David C. Howse is a speaker, leader and performer addressing issues related to the arts and social integration.


David is a multifaceted artist skilled as a solo performer, innovative teacher and arts administrator.  He has been a featured soloist in venues including Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall, the French Library and Cultural Center, the Main Stage at Roxbury Community College, The Brevard Music Center in North Carolina and the Humbach Theaterhof in Germany.  David is a proud member of the nationally recognized New England Spiritual Ensemble, a Boston-based ensemble devoted to the preservation of the art and tradition of the Negro Spiritual.  In addition to his private studio, he has served on the teaching faculties at the University of New Hampshire and the Franklin School for the Performing Arts.   He holds vocal performance degrees from Bradley University and New England Conservatory of Music.

David's recent projects include a lecture recital entitled, A Great Cry of Soul! .  This hour long performance takes you on an historical journey through the music of African American composers.  During the program, David taps into this powerful music and poetry that celebrates the triumph of the human spirit.
